Description
The DOC Special Projects Manage is responsible for developing and coordinating training, serving as interim associate dean when vacancies occur, advising Deans of Correctional Programs of staffing issues and managing and leading special projects. 
 Description of Essential Functions (critical tasks)

Develop and coordinate training for DOC staff, including annual in-service activities.
Organize and assist in training new hires in college and DOC policies and procedures.
Ensure all training is documented and documentation provided to Human Resources.
Coordinate and lead special DOC projects at the direction of Deans of Correctional Programs.
Observe correctional sites on an established schedule.
Perform the functions of Associate Dean when there is a vacant position.
Serve or lead committees for the betterment of the College as may be established by Deans of Correctional Programs.
Attend Administrator, Contractor and other meetings as required.
Observe, support, and enforce the regulations, policies, and programs of the College and inform Dean of Correctional Programs in writing of any problem that might have a detrimental effect on the College.
Inspect vocational areas and report any issues to Deans of Correctional Programs.
Review and monitor college financial records and transactions at correctional sites, notifying Deans of Correctional Programs of any discrepancies.
Monitor time keeping and ensure time entry is completed accurately and in a timely manner, notifying Deans of Correctional Programs of any discrepancies.
Monitor facility reports to insure accuracy and timeliness.
Monitor and report issues regarding registration, course assessment and admission procedures.
Ensure Program Service Credit forms, vocational task lists and attendance reports are prepared as required.
Annually audit college documentation at correctional sites.
Serve as chief advisor to Deans of Corrections in the formation of training and policies involving college staff within correctional facilities.
Conduct oneself in a professional manner and work as a member of a team.
Comply with Illinois Department of Corrections regulations and procedures.
Authorize and maintain equipment assigned to area, administering IDOC property guidelines.
Monitor control of tools, keys, caustics and flammables at correctional sites to ensure compliance with DOC regulations.
Perform other duties as assigned. 
 Specific Functional Job Requirements
Education Requirements:

Master's degree required
Experience Requirements:

Administrative and/or supervisory experience required.
Knowledge:

Knowledge of Community College and Department of Correction procedures required.
Skills:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills required. Highly developed problem solving skills required.
Personal Requirements:

Versatility, enthusiasm, positive attitude and demonstrated work ethic
