Job Description
- Provides highly visible customer support through the performance of on-site diagnoses, troubleshooting, service, and repair of complex equipment and systems.
- Checks out and approves operational quality of proton equipment.
- May train and coach new and less experienced Installation Representatives in practice, technical and reporting/documentation matters.
- Maintain technical documentation regarding operating characteristics, design factors, technical performance and development of products to improve installation efficiency.
- Associate Lead responsibilities include: Gives work instructions, guides employee efforts and providing subject matter expertise to a team of employees.
- Provides “input” to the direct manager/supervisor on overall team member performance and skill development plans.
- Works in small teams and will regularly act as a Shift Leader or Technical Area Leader.
- Input detailed records of installation and upgrade work performed into company information systems to ensure accurate updated customer installation information is available to other VMS functions.
Minimum Requirements: An Associate’s degree in Engineering or a related field (or foreign equivalent) and five (5) years of experience in the job offered, as a Proton Therapy Field Service Engineer, Oncology Supervisor, or a related occupation.
Special Requirements:
Must have experience and/or academic training with each of the following:
- Principles of electronic engineering
- Use of testing equipment used for verification
- Use of complex electromechanical systems
- Micro-computers/PC based systems
- Use of digital voltmeter and calibrated torque wrenches
