Job Summary 
 This is a part-time position. Seeking an energetic individual to work as a Reference Librarian on the following schedule during the academic year: Sundays 6:30-11:00 pm and Wednesdays 4:00-11:00 pm, with reduced hours during summer break, January term, and spring break. Necessary are knowledge of both electronic and traditional reference sources, the ability to troubleshoot computer problems and to supervise support staff and student workers, experience teaching information literacy classes and providing tours to interested groups, and assistance with small projects when assigned.
Salary Grade
Essential Functions 
 Oversees the library's operations which include reference, circulation, reserves and instructional services.
Supervises support staff and student assistants.
Answers user questions.
Opens and closes library.
Other Duties and Responsibilities 
 Demonstrates a strong commitment to continuous improvement.
Supports the University's mission, vision, and values.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications 
 A Master's degree in Library Science or current enrollment with significant progress toward degree completion.
Ability to respond to emergency situations in a professional manner.
Previous library experience.
Ability to work evenings and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements 
 Employee is subject to indoor work, protected from weather conditions. Work is sedentary in nature and involves exerting up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently/constantly in order to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move object.
Work Hours 
 Sundays 6:30-11:00 pm and Wednesdays 4:00-11:00 pm, with reduced hours during summer break, January term, and spring break.
