YOUR DAY TO DAY LIFE
We are looking for a Staff Accountant in 401 N Michigan Ave, Suite 1400, Chicago, IL 60611 USA. Your mission will be to:

Will own the work product for one of the various legal entities in North America from journal entry creation to financial statement preparation.

Codes invoices, reconciles accounts, and closes the monthly books for assigned legal entity.

Reconciles bank accounts at least monthly, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries.

Reconciles cash disbursement accounts, payroll, customer accounts, and other financial accounts.

Prepare monthly journal entries in order to properly close the assigned legal entity in JDE. Performs monthly balance sheet reviews.

Prepares monthly financial statements (Balance Sheet/Income Statement/Cash flows) and supporting documentation to be used for global consolidation purposes. The end result must be timely and accurate.

Develops reports for reconciliation, audit and tax purposes.

Support and Perform cost accounting activity as needed.

Responds to information requests.

Participates in the year-end audit and internal audit process by preparing assigned schedules and responding to auditor questions.

Prepare quarterly intercompany invoices and reconciliations.

Document processes and find opportunities for efficiencies

Perform related duties and assist the Accounting Manager as needed.

YOUR PROFILE

A thorough knowledge of accounting rules and regulations typically obtained from a bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent years of experience, is necessary to analyze information and produce the necessary documentation.

Required skills:

Spreadsheet program experience is essential to produce necessary reports.

Knowledge of information systems and ability to quickly learn new software is essential to be able to perform financial analysis.

Strong analytical skills are required to identify discrepancies in financial reports and correct any problems.

Good Interpersonal skills and the ability to be a team player are required for working effectively with others.

Ability to document processes and see opportunities for improvement in order to gain efficiencies.

Work Environment:
The incumbent works in an environment with proper lighting and temperature controls. Physical dexterity is necessary to effectively manipulate a keyboard. The incumbent can expect extended time spent in a sitting position.

Hybrid Schedule - 3 days in the office and 2 days remote work
