About the Position: The incumbent will serve as Branch Chief in the Automated Transportation Systems Division, meeting the needs of the DoD and Surface Deployment and Distribution Command for automated systems supporting surface cargo distribution and deployment. Responsibilities Develop project objectives to guide project direction. Review and submit oversight reports to meet USTRANSCOM requirements. Coordinate actions with other DoD organizations to ensure integrated solutions. Formulate budgets to secure necessary funding. Brief various stakeholders on system capabilities to defend program objectives. Align IT solutions with strategic goals to support business processes. Guide the development of application design standards to ensure consistency. Promote team building to improve business practices and work operations. Resolve employee grievances to maintain a positive work environment. Determine selections for subordinate non-supervisory positions. Recommend awards or bonuses for non-supervisory personnel to recognize performance. Monitor contract deliverables to ensure they meet acceptable requirements. Identify training needs of employees to support their development. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Overseeing the implementation of information systems projects to ensure alignment with organizational goals; 2) Developing initiatives to improve business system practices and performance; 3) Guiding the development of application design standards to operational effectiveness; and 4) Providing functional and technical direction and/or guidance to assess risk and feasibility. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Communications Leadership Program Management Systems Administration and Maintenance Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13). Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience aloneā€”no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required. This position requires you to submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE450) upon entry, and annually thereafter.
