The opportunity

EY Parthenon – Value Creation helps PE firms, their portfolio companies, and corporate companies realize better returns by unlocking value and accelerating time to money through targeted operational improvements. We rapidly define, quantify, and help realize significant incremental and sustainable value through revenue enhancement, cost and margin improvement and working capital reduction.

Your key responsibilities

As a Director in Value Creation, you will be a vital member of the team managing and executing operational focused projects. You will work on projects that span the entire lifecycle of a transaction, including operational due diligence where we focus on EBITDA upside and operational risk; buy side carve out and integration planning to ensure a newly spun out business can operate by itself and potentially merge to quickly realize anticipated synergies; post-acquisition 100 day and value creation planning; ongoing performance improvement; and exit readiness planning to inform an optimal strategy for maximizing returns and ensuring the buyer is well positioned to continue to enhance value.

To qualify for the role, you must have

+ A bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Engineering, or related field and 5 years of related work experience; or a graduate degree and approximately 3 years of related work experience.

+ Strategy and operations management consulting experience.

+ Excellent analytical, problem solving/modeling skills, and the confidence to translate complex data into meaningful insights.

+ Experience in operational due diligence, operational transformation, and performance improvement.

+ Experience in business integrations, divestitures, and/or carve-outs with a demonstrated aptitude for quantitative and qualitative analysis.

+ Deep understanding of financial statements and operational performance metrics.

+ Experience leading and managing cross-functional teams in complex business environments.

+ The ability to prioritize effectively on projects and the skills to adapt quickly to new challenges and concepts.

+ Excellent negotiation and influencing skills, and the ability to develop long-lasting relationships both internally and externally.

+ Experience leading junior consultants and client team members.

+ Experience independently creating client deliverables and driving their workstreams.

+ The ability and willingness to travel and work in excess of standard hours when necessary.

Ideally, you’ll also have

+ A proven record of excellence in M&A transactions.

+ Experience driving operational improvement programs in a corporate setting.

+ Experience gained within another large professional services organization.

+ MBA is preferred.

+ Dynamic individuals who thrive in ambiguous situations to help clients solve their most critical strategic, business, and economic challenges.

What we offer

We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $205,000 to $235,000. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options. Join us in our team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year. Under our flexible vacation policy, you’ll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances. You’ll also be granted time off for designated EY Paid Holidays, Winter/Summer breaks, Personal/Family Care, and other leaves of absence when needed to support your physical, financial, and emotional well-being.
