Job Description

Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a detail-oriented Buyer in Carol Stream, Illinois. The successful candidate will be a crucial part of our team, primarily responsible for managing and optimizing our buying processes within the manufacturing industry. This role involves the utilization of various software tools such as ERP – Enterprise Resource Planning, ERP Solutions, IBM AS/400, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Office Suites, providing a dynamic and challenging work environment.

Responsibilities:

- Utilize ERP – Enterprise Resource Planning and ERP Solutions to manage and optimize buying processes

- Regularly use IBM AS/400, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Office Suites to maintain accurate records and facilitate efficient operations

- Engage actively in component selection processes, ensuring the best quality and value for the company

- Deliver excellent customer service, resolving any issues promptly and professionally

- Contribute to the overall efficiency of the manufacturing process through effective and strategic buying processes

- Manage ‘About Time’ software to ensure timely and efficient buying processes

- Regularly review and improve buying processes to increase efficiency and cost-effectiveness

- Collaborate with team members and other departments to ensure smooth operations

- Stay updated on industry trends and changes to ensure the company’s buying processes remain competitive and effective. Requirements – Proven experience in a Buyer role or similar procurement position

- Strong knowledge of ERP – Enterprise Resource Planning and ERP Solutions

- Familiarity with IBM AS/400 system

- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suites

- Experience with the About Time software is a plus

- Understanding of Buying Processes and Component Selection

- Excellent Customer Service skills

- Prior experience in a Manufacturing environment

- Ability to negotiate and sustain networking relationships

- Results-driven with the ability to meet deadlines

- Excellent communication and negotiation skills

- Problem-solving aptitude

- Demonstrated decision-making skills

- Ability to work well with a team

- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, or relevant field is preferred.
