Job Description

Description We are offering a contract to permanent employment opportunity for a credit clerk in Elk Grove Village, Illinois. This role is primarily focused on bookkeeping within the logistics and accounting departments. The individual will be required to handle tasks related to accounting and logistics, including managing invoices, bills, payments, bank transactions, shipping, and inventory.

Responsibilities:

- Handle accounting tasks and understand the principles of double-entry accounting

- Manage shipping procedures and related documentation

- Utilize Microsoft Office and QuickBooks for various tasks

- Handle invoices to customers and enter bills from vendors related to inventory

- Enter bank transactions and ensure they are correctly posted in the system

- Handle email correspondence and file paperwork as necessary

- Monitor the status of customer credit accounts and take appropriate actions to collect delinquent payments

- Process customer credit applications accurately and efficiently

- Maintain accurate customer credit records. Requirements – Proficiency in QuickBooks is a must for efficient data entry and financial reporting

- Strong skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and report creation

- Experience as a Full Charge Bookkeeper is required, including responsibilities such as payroll, bank reconciliations, and financial statement preparation

- Ability to handle the full cycle of accounting duties, from entering data to creating financial reports

- Detail-oriented and organized, with strong problem-solving skills to handle any discrepancies or issues that arise

- Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients, vendors, and internal teams

- Ability to maintain confidentiality, as this role will have access to sensitive financial information

- Understanding of accounting principles and laws to ensure compliance in all financial actions

- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously to meet deadlines

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field is preferred.
