MS Wealth Management (MSWM) Technology

Morgan Stanley Wealth Management (MSWM) Technology is the global technology department responsible for the design, development, delivery and support of the technical solutions behind the products and services used by the Morgan Stanley Wealth Management (MSWM) business. The department is comprised of 10 organizations: Sales, Banking & Corporate-Client Technology, Investment Products & Markets Technology, Client Reporting, Core Processing, Private and International Wealth Management Technology, Technology Integration Office, Enterprise Infrastructure & Production Management, Capital Markets Application & Data Services, Deployment Planning & Release Management, and the Chief Operating Office.

Description: Senior iOS Developer – VP

We are seeking a passionate, motivated iOS Developer looking to make big impact on our mobile trading platform.

You have an eye for good design, both in terms of the software you will help build with a nimble team of likeminded engineers, and for the visual interfaces you will craft alongside your UX partners.

You are great at debugging complex issues at all layers of the stack, able to trace data from endpoint all the way to the UI and back again. You are familiar with tools like Charles, Postman, os_log, and the XCode debugger to help get the job done.

You are highly self-motivated, seeking out problems and solutioning them with others both inside and outside our dev team before our customers are affected.

You lead by example and believe that we are most successful when we lift others up through our words and actions.

Because you embody all the above characteristics, you are a natural at mentoring your peers and providing guidance to your fellow teammates.

Responsibilities

· Contribute to defining the mobile application strategy and implement features for a suite of Mobile Applications

· Learn and apply new technologies, best design practices and usability patterns

· Contribute to end-to-end system architecture, working with back-end engineers

· Collaborate with product managers and other technical teams to create optimized and delightful user experiences

· Maintain source code quality, provide code review feedback, and help refine team coding principles.

Basic Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or equivalent experience)

· 5 years of software development experience with Apple platforms

· Expert knowledge of Swift

· Broad experience with the iOS SDK, particularly UIKit, SwiftUI, and Foundation

· Solid experience with asynchronous programming using structured concurrency and GCD

· Understanding of reactive paradigms, experience using Combine and/or RxSwift is a plus

· Solid understanding of the MVVM architectural pattern

· Experience with consuming and designing RESTful API type web services. Experience with realtime streaming frameworks like Socket.io, Ably, or LightStreamer is a huge plus.

· Strong knowledge of iOS UI design principles, patterns, and best practices. iPadOS is a plus. The ability to cleanly integrate with both in one codebase is ideal.

· Strong fundamentals with XCTest, and hopefully you’ve heard of SwiftTest. You don’t aim for 100% coverage, but instead focus on what really matters.

· Excellent debugging and optimization skills, including use of Instruments for identifying issues as they arise, and utilizing performance testing to ensure they don’t happend in the first place.

· Comfortable working individually with minimal direction on a larger development team
