As an active member on the corporate investigative team, ensures substantial external theft related to Organized Retail Crime is negated within the assigned region(s) and Supply Chain. Uses technology to observe activity, identify and react to substantial external theft and major crimes against Meijer, including as a primary focus: Organized Retail Crime. Works closely with the Regional Asset Protection Team, AP Operations, Shrink Team, and Corporate Investigations Team to maximize effectiveness related to Organized Retail Crime Investigations and Strategies. Acts as a liaison on Organized Retail Crime Associations including local, State, and Federal entities.

What You’ll be Doing:

+ Lead and oversee all organized retail crime investigative processes in assigned area. Ensure that investigations are consistent with company core values and of the highest legal and ethical standards

+ Builds key partnerships with local Law Enforcement and attend local Organized Retail Crime Task Force meetings. Serves as Meijer liaison with law enforcement and other retailers to investigate and collaborate on addressing issues within assigned market and across supply chain geographies

+ Collaborating on enterprise investigations, safety and security strategies and drives consensustactical execution, response and reporting

+ Work closely with Remote Operations Center leadership to optimize processes in information sharing and investigative acumen.

+ Stay abreast of industry trends, practices, and technology and recommend enhancements to the Director of Investigations

+ Work closely with company supply chain and third-party providers to identify and resolve theft and shortage issues

+ Reduce civil exposure by partnering with field teams to identify and correct behaviors that are outside of policy or company core values. Adjust training methods and communication when warranted

+ Focuses on identifying suspects for prosecution related to Major Crimes Against Meijer

+ Responsible for conducting surveillance on and off Meijer property related to building major cases and identifying potential criminal enterprises fencing stolen goods from Meijer.

+ Represents Meijer in criminal court and/or civil proceedings related to incidents/events for assigned market(s)

+ Provide regular reports and updates to senior management, highlighting key fraud prevention and investigation activities, findings, and recommendations.

+ Performs other duties as required

What You Bring With You (Qualifications):

+ High School Diploma or equivalent experience. LPC preferred.

+ Minimum of five (5) years retail investigations experience or prior law enforcement experience required

+ Ability to work independently and cross-functionally. Must exercise significant autonomy and decision-making in day-to-day job activities.

+ Demonstrated ability to make good decisions based upon a mixture of analysis, wisdom, experience, and judgment

+ Demonstrated ability to pay attention to both small nuances and complex situations in a way that he/she figures out root cause issues and solves problems and issues

+ Ability to write clearly and succinctly to a variety of audiences from Senior Leadership to Team Members

+ Demonstrated ability to teach individuals and groups on complex matters

+ Demonstrated ability to remain flexible in a fast paced environment

+ Ability to communicate to a variety of audiences and positions through establishing partnerships

+ Maintain a high level of passion, energy and the ability to influence others

+ Ability to work on sensitive assignments and handle confidential information appropriately
