Description:

This position is for a Maintenance Technician in a metal manufacturing company where they will be working on mainly manual but automated equipment in certain areas of the facility. They will be troubleshooting, repairing and performing preventative maintenance to notching machines, sharpening, (“Ideal”) welders and other equipment in the facility.

The purpose of the position is to service, maintain, and upgrade existing production equipment and facilities as well as build new machinery. The priority of their work will be determined on things that come up safety being first, machine down time, preventative maintenance and equipment improvements. Comfortable with daily work involving 30% mechanical and 70% electrical.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

Perform preventative maintenance on production equipment to ensure safe, proper, and efficient function. Document associated tasks and parts used/replaced.

Diagnose problems with mechanical assemblies and repair or replace bearings, belts, pulleys and gears.

Make replacement and prototype parts and fixtures by machining and fabrication.

Perform preventative maintenance, repair, and assemble small punch press dies and components.

Assist in the storage and management of replacement parts and components.

Analyze, install, and maintain water, pneumatic and hydraulic systems. Make repairs and replace worn or defective parts such as gauges, valves, pressure regulators and piping.

Troubleshoot machine control circuits (switches, relays, fuses, indicators, sensors).

Diagnose motor failures, use electrical test instrumentation including multimeters and amp meters.

Connect and install dual-voltage motors.

Job Requirements

4 years or more of experience as a maintenance technician within a manufacturing environment

Read and understand drawings, diagrams and schematics.
