Role Overview: The AML Data Governance Analyst plays a critical role in ensuring compliance with Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations. They analyze financial data to detect and prevent money laundering and other illicit activities. Working within financial institutions, regulatory agencies, or private firms, they conduct investigations and due diligence processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and Implement Data Governance Policies:

Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to establish data standards.

Create and implement data governance policies and procedures.

Data Quality Assessment:

Conduct data quality assessments to identify areas for improvement.

Implement data quality enhancements to maintain high standards.

Champion Data Governance:

Promote data governance practices across the organization.

Find creative ways to ensure data governance remains effective.

Risk Assessment and Monitoring:

Review financial transactions to identify irregularities or suspicious activities.

Utilize tools such as transaction monitoring systems, risk assessment algorithms, and databases.

Compliance and Reporting:

Ensure adherence to AML regulations.

Prepare reports on data governance and compliance efforts.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Finance, Business, Data Science).

Experience in data governance, AML, or related fields.

Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Knowledge of AML regulations and industry best practices.

Proficiency in data quality assessment.

Familiarity with financial transactions and risk assessment tools.
