The Opportunity

This position works out in our facilities of Lake Forest IL, in the Diagnostics Division.

We’re empowering smarter medical and economic decision making to help transform the way people manage their health at all stages of life. Every day, more than 10 million tests are run on Abbott’s diagnostics instruments, providing lab results for millions of people.

What You’ll Work On

The position will support the group responsible for Lessor Accounting requirements for the Diagnostics Division at the Headquarters level by providing guidance and support to Global Affiliates on lease contract assessment. Position will support accounting processes to ensure proper recognition of revenue and other P&L and B/S items as well as participate in planning and forecast cycles for lessor accounting financials.

Main Responsibilities Include :

+ Support annual plan and rolling forecasts to capture the financial impact of lease accounting inclusive of both domestic and international affiliates.

+ Aid in developing detailed financial forecasts incorporating historic and current business information.

+ Analyze historical data to support ongoing revenue and margin analyses and to investigate new trends and provide insights on financial and business impacts.

+ Perform ad-hoc analysis as requested by Division and Corporate Management.

+ Participate in annual global scope assessment and review with Division and Corporate Management. This includes an annual review with all major affiliates’ Commercial, Finance, and Business Unit teams on key lease contract practices.

+ Global support and consulting of all Diagnostics organizations to provide interpretation and application of lease accounting standard to ensure consistent practices across all affiliates.

+ Maintain global lessor accounting system to meet reporting and accounting requirements.

+ Work with outside vendor to adapt global lessor accounting system to new requirements.

+ Exercise judgment in selecting innovative, practical methods to achieve problem resolution; proactively review processes and implement improvements.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING

Required

+ Bachelor’s degree with concentration in accounting or finance. CPA or MBA preferred.

+ 2-4 years of finance experience to include roles of increasing responsibility in accounting and/or finance.

+ Strong analytical and communication skills. Ability to communicate complex topics to a broad financial and non-financial audience.

Preferred

+ Industry experience in technical accounting (i.e. Lease Accounting) Financial Planning and Analysis

+ Experience with any of the following financial management and accounting systems: Hyperion, SAP, and/or TM1.

+ Understanding of accounting principles, practices and standards

+ Experience in working with international organizations

The base pay for this position is $57,300.00 – $114,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
