The Role

The Senior Planning Engineer will be responsible for all aspects of completing the delivery of new telecommunications networks in one or more locations through vendor management and vendor engagement; including supervising the estimating, design, engineering, scheduling and construction implementation of multiple network infrastructure deployment projects.

This is a work from home position within the U.S.

The Main Responsibilities

+ Triggers projects utilizing the most feasible, practical and economical means.

+ Performs engineering work and applied research, development and design of new projects, to include design, fabrication, modification and evaluation of equipment and devices.

+ Skilled in planning and/or engineering.

+ Analyzes complex local and wide area network systems and/or customer network environment, including planning, designing, evaluating, selecting operating systems and protocol suites and configuring communication media with concentrators, bridges and other devices.

+ Must be capable of handling moderately complex engineering assignments.

+ Resolves difficult interoperability problems to obtain operation across all platforms including e-mail, files transfer, multimedia, teleconferencing and the like.

+ Configures systems to user environments.

+ Supports acquisition and implementation of hardware and software as well as subcontractor services.

+ May act as a technical project leader or provide work leadership for lower level employees.

+ Excludes those with full supervisory responsibilities.

+ Requires limited direction and guidance.

What We Look For in a Candidate

+ Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and relevant experience

+ 6+ years of related experience

+ 4+ years of related experience with a Master’s Degree

+ Experience with ArcGIS/PRO, AutoCAD and Google Earth

+ Understanding of telecom infrastructure and domestic network assets.

+ Vast experience with Microsoft suite.

Compensation

The starting salary for this role differs based on the employee’s primary work location. Employees typically do not start at the top of the range, though compensation depends on each individual’s qualifications.

Location Based Pay Ranges

$80510 – $107340 in these states: AR, ID, KY, LA, ME, MS, NE, SC, and SD.

$84740 – $112980 in these states: AZ, AL, FL, GA, IN, IA, KS, MO, MT, NM, ND, OH, OK, PA, TN, UT, VT, WV, WI, and WY.

$88980 – $118630 in these states: CO, HI, MI, MN, NV, NH, NC, OR, and RI.

$93210 – $124280 in these states: AK, CA, CT, DE, DC, IL, MD, MA, NJ, NY, TX, VA, and WA.

As with the pay range variety that’s based on the region of a country, specific offers are determined by various factors such as experience, education, skills, certifications and other business needs.
