Job Summary
The Program Coordinator for Global Affairs will provide program coordination and specialized administrative support to the Carle Illinois College of Medicine. This will include global affairs collaboration activities, and the Global Consortium of Innovation and Engineering in Medicine (GCIEM) to advance medical education through innovation, engineering, and medicine through collaboration.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Program Coordination
    • Assist in the development and implementation of all programs and initiatives aligned with college goals and objectives. This includes but is not limited to the development and execution of the annual Global Summit, Grand Challenge Competition and Student/Faculty Exchange, and delegation campus visits.
    • Work closely with the Office of Student Affairs, Office of Academic Affairs, and Carle Foundation Hospital administration to ensure are policies and procedures are met prior to a faculty or student visit.
    • Work with the Office of Research and Innovation to connect visiting international students with appropriate CI MED faculty for research opportunities.
    • Serve as primary liaison and resource person for internal and external units of the university, external organizations, and other individuals, addressing inquiries and providing support as requested.
    • In collaboration with MarCom and College leadership, assist in the development of communication materials, including but not limited to, meeting agendas, presentations, reports, and promotional materials.
  • Program Administration
    • Oversee and manage Consortium's membership roster and manage annual membership fees from participating members and institutions.
    • Work closely with internal units within the university and consortium partners.
    • Work with College leadership to evaluate, develop, and implement processes and procedures to improve the efficacy of consortium related activities and initiatives.
    • In collaboration with the Finance unit, track and manage consortium related expenditures.
    • Supervise and manage the work of office support staff as required.
  • Other
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
    • This position will require occasional flexibility for the workday and work hours.

Specialty Factors

Bachelor's degree.
A total of one (1) year (12 months) of work experience in program or project management.

  • • Proficient in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc. • Detail oriented and highly organized with the ability to execute in a deadline-driven environment. • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with success in working with internal and external constituents. • Must be a team player, professional, and committed to providing excellent service.
Appointment Information

This is a 100% full-time Civil Service 5002 - Program Coordinator position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after September 9, 2024.The minimum salary is $60,000. We strive to provide a competitive salary, considering factors such as available market data, internal equity, candidate experience and qualifications, collective bargaining agreements, and budget constraints. The final salary offer will be determined through a thorough assessment of these elements. . Sponsorship for work authorization is not available for this position.
