The Financial Manager will be a crucial member supporting the Corporate Financial Planning team. You will be tasked with coordinating the reporting and analysis of consolidated financials and KPIs to guide the overall health and trajectory of Yahoo. This role will work on highly-visible reporting and strategic projects across Yahoo. You will work closely with the SVP of Finance, Sr Director of Finance, and other senior leaders across the company, including exposure to the CFO. The right candidate will be analytical, detail oriented, and a professional, polished communicator. She/He should be able to quickly analyze financial statements to provide valuable insights, and communicate recommendations to leadership (while understanding the bigger picture).
Role & Responsibilities
This role will report directly to the Sr. Director in Corporate FP&A and will be responsible for managing consolidated financial reporting and analysis that will ultimately be reported up to the Executive Yahoo Leadership team. The following work streams, processes, and presentations with Yahoo Consolidated financials will be owned by this role.
- Prepare internal reports for SVP of Corp Finance and other executive leadership to provide insight to financial results and trends to support financial management and planning
- Assist Sr Director to create financial models and provide financial analysis for key projects, ultimately leading to recommendations that will improve financial performance and support decision making
- Coordinate the LRP and Outlook submissions process ensuring fully-allocated reporting by segment
- Gather and analyze appropriate data for various monthly and/or ad hoc reports
- Help drive project initiatives that focus on process improvement and simplification around how we report, forecast, and analyze results
- Develop and manage consolidated financial reporting and presentations, coordinating across the finance organization to ensure accurate and thorough representation of financials for internal and external reviews
- Partnering with accounting and field FP&A teams to ensure accurate management report
Qualifications
- 4-7 years of progressive career related experience in FP&A or Consulting
- BA/BS degree (MBA is a plus) in Finance, Economics, or Business
- Experience interacting with senior business leaders and managing planning processes
- Experience coordinating across teams
- Strong relationship building, professional communication, and presentation skills
- Superior business and analytical skills
- Advanced Excel skills and Google Suites
- An ability to take very difficult concepts and tell a simple understandable story
- Comfortable (and thrive) in ambiguous situations with little data or direction
- Experience creating complex financial models working with large data sets
- Ability and desire to work in a fast-paced, fun, demanding environment
- Demonstrated ability to take ownership over increasingly larger project
- High energy level with the ability to adapt and be flexible in day to day operations
