JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Work with machine systems teams to establish converter requirements for e-powertrain
* Perform analysis and evaluation needed to select best supplier option.
* Collaborate with suppliers and system"s teams to develop production components from requirements definition to validation completion.
* Support NTI & NPI programs: communication with NTI/NPI leads; prepare and present design and gateway reviews
* Collaboration with China team for electrical design, verification & validation plans, functional evaluation. * Play an active role in supplier evaluation, selection and development- some limited travel will be required
* Execute and support electrical commissioning and testing on purchased components
* Support APQP activities on purchased components in collaboration with suppliers
* Document and resolve field issues - Procurement, inventory management, and shipment of components
* Stay up to date with the latest advances and market trends in e-powertrain DC converters and inverters
REQUIRED QUALIFICATION:
* Bachelor degree (or equivalent) in an accredited Electrical Engineering degree
* Minimum 6 years of experience in product development
* Previous product development experience (design / analysis / validation)
* Power Electronics design and development experience
* Basic understanding of e-powertrain (electric drive) system and components
* Experience with electric drive systems and/or components
* Component development experience: design/analysis/assembly/testing.
* Experience with quality tools including FMEA, APQP & PPAP
* Experience with New Product Introduction (NPI) Issue resolution process
* Strong communication skills
* Self-starter with strong technical leadership skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* Experience in inverters and motor drives for electric powertrain development
* Experience in supplier evaluation and development
* Power converter testing and validation experience
* Demonstrated ability to lead teams through complex assignments.
