The Industry Manager is responsible for leading the field sales organization relative to the industry trends, planning and executing growth strategies, managing and expanding product lines and vendor relationships, owning the pipeline and working with the product management team to drive share with suppliers.
This role will also own key accounts and will train sales in key areas of the industry to help develop business.

What You'll Do

Develop vital tools and initiate activities for the field organization (e.g. sales literature, trade show, training seminars, etc.)

Maintain effective relationships with assigned suppliers and act as a liaison for vendor/field relations.

Stay ahead of product trends and industry developments and always pursue new products/vendors to assume the most effective product/vendor mix.

Initiate and manage national incentive programs with key vendors and, in collaboration with Univar Solutions' North American managers, is responsible for their implementation in the field.

Monitor and analyze product sales and profitability, compare, and assure compliance with established goals.

Generate industry reports, make recommendations for corrective action, and actively assist in their implementation.

Maintain close communications with NA Head of Marketing, as well as Regional Sales Managers and Area Sales Managers

Participate regularly in sales meetings and make joint calls with field sellers to be intimately familiar with prevailing market conditions and customer issues.

As required, prepare vendor/customer and in-house presentations.

Assist in advertising in conjunction with the Head of NA Marketing.

Conduct market research projects to assist the region.

Facilitate the active use of industry specialist teams.

What You'll Need

Bachelor's degree (Business Administration, Marketing, Chemistry preferred)

Minimum of 8 years of experience in a sales or commercial position with a broad knowledge of chemical distribution.

Food Ingredients (raw chemicals) industry experience with a focus on Bakery ingredients is a plus.

Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills with all levels of people in the organization.

Ability to develop and grow positive relationships with key customer contacts and suppliers.

High level of decision-making ability balancing customer needs and company objectives.

Strong PC skills including Excel, Outlook, CRM (Salesforce)

Able to manage multiple projects with high levels of detail simultaneously.
