Description:

Position Summary
The Extra Help Medical Office Assistant is responsible for receptionist duties for all staff, patients and visitors in the Department of Surgery. This is an extra help vacancy that will work under the direct supervision of the Director of Administrative Operations.

Duties & Responsibilities

Provide support on various administrative/organizational matters.
Answers, screens and routes telephone inquiries to appropriate party.
Assist in special projects and essential programs, including complex scheduling for meetings/events.
Performs data entry, assuring accuracy of data entered.
Coordinate administrator's schedule; invites and notifies participants.
Opens and distributes mail; transmits correspondence and medical records by mail, e-mail, or fax
Operates office equipment such as copiers, voice mail messaging systems, and uses word processing, spreadsheet, and other software applications to prepare reports, invoices, financial statements, letters, case histories and medical records. Orders and maintains clerical supplies.
Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

CREDENTIALS TO BE VERIFIED BY PLACEMENT OFFICER

High School diploma or equivalent.
