Wieland is hiring a Scale Operator I. The Scale Operator is responsible for weighting and grading materials in order to ensure accurate shipping/receiving and inventory records. This role is located in Granite City, IL and will be fully on-site.
Starting Pay: $22HR

 


Responsibilities

 

Responsibilities:
Coordinate unloading of materials and ensure accuracy of material weights.
Coordinate loading of material with proper weight distribution.
Ability to give clear instructions to other team members.
Basic ability to navigate within the company database.
Proficient in receiving or shipping of domestic and international materials.
Initiative to develop materials knowledge using the tools and resources provided.
Collaborate with other departments to achieve company goals.
Maintain the cleanliness and accuracy of scale equipment, and the dock areas.
Complete daily reports, maintain logs, spreadsheets and other records, as assigned.
Qualifications:
Ability to work independently and as a team, in a safe and efficient manner and to follow safety policies and procedures.
Adherence to health and safety regulations (e.g. constant use of protective gear)
Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs such as Microsoft Word and Excel, PowerPoint or equivalent.
Knowledge and experience working with computerized scale systems and other similar software and equipment.
Strong communication skills
Self-motivated person with problem-solving skills
Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions.
Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.
Attentive to detail and alert at all times to ensure safety.
Maintains safety as high priority in all aspects of responsibility.
Highschool diploma or GED equivalent required.
