Job Description

Position Highlights:

Position: Medical Assistant/Patient Support Assistant - Orthopaedic Institute
Location: Skokie Ambulatory Care Center
Full Time/Part Time: Resource
Hours: Monday-Friday, hours vary depending on the need of the practice.

What you will do:
Answer phones
Schedule appointments
Collect co-payments
Complete patient registration
Provide other administrative support to the physician practice
Check in and check out patient
Verify insurances
Greet patients and escort them to exam room
Document vital signs, allergies, medications and reason for office visit
Provide front office support as needed
Perform basic vitals like BP, height and weight
Phlebotomy and injections may be required

What you will need:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent work experience is required. Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program is preferred, but not required.
Certification:CPR certification through the American Heart Association required; Medical Assistant Certification (AMT or AAMA) is preferred, but not required.
Experience: One year of work experience Preferred, previous experience working in Ortho is preferred. On the job training is provided for those who do not have previous medical assistant training or experience.
Open availability within the first month for training.
