Banc Mac, a United Community Bancorp entity, is in search of a Mortgage Loan Underwriter due to the expansion of correspondent and broker loan programs with banks and credit unions within the wholesale unit.
The Underwriter performs a wide range of duties related to the underwriting of secondary market residential mortgage loans:
Renders underwriting decisions and subsequent clearing conditions to ensure credit guidelines are met.
Corresponds with Third Party Bank Lenders.
Keeps current on investor, agency and compliance guidelines.
Assists in timely completion and review of Adverse Action Loans and other tasks as warranted.

Current FHA DE government designation preferred.
FHA underwriting experience REQUIRED.
Minimum of three years' experience as an underwriter.
Minimum of five years mortgage experience.
Must be detail driven with strong verbal and written communication skills.
Must be proficient in all Microsoft products.
Encompass knowledge is a plus.
This individual must be highly self-motivated as well as ability to work well in a team environment.
Other Skills and Abilities: Strong customer service skills; excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills including listening skills; ability to handle confidential information in a professional manner; ability to communicate effectively with customers as well as all levels of branch staff, management, and employees of internal departments; and the ability to perform duties independently with limited direct supervision.
Attendance Requirements
Employees are expected to report to work as scheduled, on time and prepared to start work. Employees are expected to remain at work for their entire work schedule. Late arrival, early departure or other absences from scheduled hours should be avoided.
Physical requirements:
Ability to sit for up to eight hours
Requires bending, stooping or standing as necessary
Requires the ability to hear, speak and/or signal people
Effectively communicate verbally, in writing, and in English
Requires manual dexterity, typing, and the ability to lift files and open filing cabinets
The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds
