Duties and Responsibilities 
 Due to our expansion of services, the Department of Pathology at Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine is seeking a pathologist at the rank of Assistant/Associate or Full Professor with fellowship training or experience in surgical pathology. Leadership opportunities are available based on experience.


Candidates must hold an MD degree or equivalent and be AP Board-certified/eligible. Individuals will need to obtain a medical license in the State of Illinois. Strong diagnostic skills, excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, and a strong work ethic are essential. A record of academic productivity and scholarly accomplishments demonstrating a commitment to an academic career is desirable.


The successful candidate will join a cohesive team of subspecialized surgical pathologists who manage approximately 35,000 surgical specimens annually. There are ample opportunities for clinical/translational research and multidisciplinary collaboration with investigators at the Cardinal Bernardin Cancer Center. The selected candidate will be appointed at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor commensurate with experience.

Weinberg Emergency Department, the Loyola Center for Metabolic Surgery and Bariatric Care and the Loyola Cancer Care & Research Facility at the Marjorie G. Weinberg Cancer Center. MacNeal is a 374-licensed-bed teaching hospital in Berwyn with advanced medical, surgical and psychiatric services, acute rehabilitation, an inpatient skilled nursing facility and a 68-bed behavioral health program and community clinics.
