Job Summary

The Warehouse Lead is responsible for performing all the duties of the assigned warehouse area plus directing and coordinating activities of others within the area. This role is responsible of ensuring a safe and efficient warehouse department at all times.This role is responsible for ensuring that we meet plant OTA and cycle count goals, and ensure that production staging areas are managed and maintained. Position is a "hands on" part of the team, occupying a direct labor position while assisting in the coordination of workflow, troubleshooting with associates and leading by example. Position coordinates area activities in the absence of the Manager.

Essential Functions

*Safely insures all phases of warehouse operations are being performed efficiently and effectively.
*Coordinates and administers all aspects of training for new hires as well as long-term associates.
*Provides associates with guidance, training and communication regarding job requirements, all OSHA safety guidelines, ISO procedures & Avient rules/expectations.
*Complies with and enforces all company policies and procedures.
*Provides timely feedback to assigned workforce on objectives, goals and expectations.
*Ensures efficient use of staffing in conjunction with Warehouse Manager, by effective planning of vacation schedules and arranging the required coverage when necessary.
*Coordinates all inbound and outbound orders.
*Coordinates movements of Raw materials and Finished goods to and from 921
*Responsible for the general condition of the warehouse, shipping/receiving areas and overall cleanliness. Inspects for any improper warehousing of inventory & insures the warehouse is neat and clean at all times.
*Manages warehouse and production supplies at proper inventory levels and insure all warehouse costs are meeting plan.
*Initiate, lead and participate in cost savings projects.
*Maintains open lines of communication with supply chain planning, quality/lab, maintenance and operations support groups to achieve OTA.
*Provides the highest level of customer service.
*Develops/maintains various warehouse productivity reports and audits.
*Monitors phone calls, voice mails, e-mails and other communications, providing professional communication in a timely manner.
*Monitors all warehouse activity for proper output, productivity, and safety processes (Trailer Entry)
*Ability to write Work instructions as well as Standard Operating Procedures, and train all operators.
*Conducts monthly safety and environmental audits.
*Provides logistics support, when needed.
*Other duties as assigned.

 

Education and Experience
*High School diploma, GED equivalency or equivalent experience.
*3 years of SAP / S4 HANA experience
*5 years of related manufacturing/warehouse experience
*Fork lift operating experience.
