Job Description

30% Under general direction, serves as an Electronically Stored Information (ESI) Compliance Technician for the Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT):
⦁    Performs difficult and specialized professional work assignments as an ESI Compliance Technician. 
⦁    Monitors and reviews enterprise data compliance and governance retention policies, as it relates to email journaling, email archiving, messaging systems, and file data retention, to ensure to ensure adherence for regulatory compliance. 
⦁    Processes and fulfills agency ESI data requests (i.e., Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), investigative) submitted through the DoIT ESI Request Tracking System.  
⦁    Closes requests when all ESI related tasks comprising an ESI request have been completed. 
⦁    Utilizes email eDiscovery utility software and email archiving software systems in the performance of duties.

 

30% Performs professional advisory functions in the analysis and evaluation to convert or improve existing systems utilizing general structured programming concepts:
⦁    Writes, tests, debugs, and maintains PowerShell Scripts.
⦁    Designs, builds, and maintains Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) to allow software systems to interact. 
⦁    Assists higher level analysts in diagnosing and analyzing software technical issues. 
⦁    Performs scheduled and remedial maintenance for support IT platforms.
⦁    Provides monthly metric status reports to DoIT senior management.
⦁    Maintains instructional and informational documentation to aid 

Job Responsibilities continued

15% Assists with administrative support of the enterprise email vaulting system:
⦁    Performs maintenance and management including monitoring systems for capacity and performance while adhering to DoIT email retention policies. 
⦁    Works closely with DoIT PIM engineers to ensure email archive vault systems are well maintained and reliable.
⦁    Maintains a specialized level of proficiency with email journaling and vaulting archive systems.

 

10% Collaborates with staff to create and maintain DoIT ESI departmental process, training and metrics documentation:
⦁    Participates in the development of training manuals to educate designated agency ESI Requestors on the use of ESI eDiscovery software.
⦁    Maintains departmental procedural and process manuals for the various software platforms supported. 
⦁    Compiles and publishes monthly DoIT Product Information Management (PIM) metrics

 

10% Keeps abreast of new developments in the Information Technology (IT) field:
⦁    Continues education by attending meetings, training sessions, seminars and conferences to increase familiarity with and remain current on products, vendors, techniques and procedures.
⦁    Attends demonstrations and exhibitions related to assigned operations

 

5% Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of duties enumerated above.
