The Role

As a Lumen Procurement Manager, you will manage complex vendor agreements and relationships across multiple commodities. This includes delivering against corporate initiatives related to cost reduction, cost avoidance, supplier rationalization and continually benchmarking purchasing and process practices to effectively translate the analysis into action. Provide subject matter expertise and be a trusted advisor in regards to vendor management, sourcing, and procurement.

Work Location

This is a fully remote position open to candidates based anywhere in the U.S.

The Main Responsibilities

+ Conduct internal and external analysis of the category including spend at supplier and business unit level, market conditions, and should cost modeling.

+ Actively partner with legal teams and business unit stakeholders to develop and execute negotiation strategies that include optimal targets for pricing, service, and quality.

+ Prepare RFX documents, negotiate / renegotiate new and existing agreements or statements of work, communicate plans, and award contracts.

+ Read, understand, and interpret technical construction drawings, contract language, and assembly unit definitions to support price negotiations.

+ Provide guidance to stakeholders on contractual terms and conditions that support supplier management and lead business reviews to assist in delivering resolution for difficult issues through effective negotiation tactics.

+ Manage stakeholder and supplier relationships to align with business strategies, understand upcoming needs, and monitor supplier performance for continuous improvement.

What We Look For in a Candidate

+ Experience with market analysis, strategic planning, forecasting, and RFP/RFx catalog preferred.

+ Telecom or Utility construction experience preferred.

+ Strong organizational and personal time management skills to support multiple contracts at once. Strong analytical and problem solving skills

+ Possess 5+ years of procurement, project management, or other relevant contract management/negotiation experience.

+ Experience working with legal documents and interpreting contract terms and conditions.

+ Possesses intermediate to advanced Excel and Word skills.

Compensation

The starting salary for this role differs based on the employee’s primary work location. Employees typically do not start at the top of the range, though compensation depends on each individual’s qualifications.

Location Based Pay Ranges

$80510 – $107340 in these states: AR, ID, KY, LA, ME, MS, NE, SC, and SD.

$84740 – $112980 in these states: AZ, AL, FL, GA, IN, IA, KS, MO, MT, NM, ND, OH, OK, PA, TN, UT, VT, WV, WI, and WY.

$88980 – $118630 in these states: CO, HI, MI, MN, NV, NH, NC, OR, and RI.

$93210 – $124280 in these states: AK, CA, CT, DE, DC, IL, MD, MA, NJ, NY, TX, VA, and WA.

As with the pay range variety that’s based on the region of a country, specific offers are determined by various factors such as experience, education, skills, certifications and other business needs.
