Work you’ll do

Deloitte Insights is a resource to current and future business/organizational leaders across industries, functions, and geographies. Our aim is to ensure that Deloitte Insights’ thought leadership connects with what senior executives care about and need to know, and offers them new ideas, relevant data, and actionable insights. We publish 400+ data-driven thought leadership pieces annually, including articles, research reports, data visualizations, videos, and podcasts.

+ Leveraging your own business understanding and content skills when partnering with internal and external thought leaders, research professionals, and their teams to lead the topic planning, research planning, analysis and resulting thought leadership/insights efforts related to ethical leadership for Deloitte US’s Ethics Office, with insights published and distributed in a variety of paid, owned and earned channels

+ Leading and coordinating internal and external stakeholder engagement on timely and future-focused ethical leadership topics and initiatives, and related client-focused events

+ Collaborating with subject matter experts to determine the appropriate research, content and channel strategy for each project

+ Conducting journalistic research (interviewing internal and external subject matter experts, conducting desk research, etc.) and/or coordinating with internal and external research providers to apply other research methodologies as appropriate (qual/quant surveys, big data analyses, economic modeling, etc.)

+ Drafting the content pieces resulting from the research and analysis, working with Ethics Office leaders and others to shape the thinking

+ Acting as the storytelling strategist to determine and achieve the optimal storytelling approach to increase audience engagement, and ensure that each content project is clear and compelling-that the story flows logically and ensures reader/viewer/listener engagement from start to finish, the ideas are well-differentiated and communicated accurately and directly, the phrasing is dynamic and conversational, the overall content project will be perceived by target audiences as high-quality and high-value, and the content will achieve the content creators’ objectives

+ Managing Ethics Office initiatives to elevate the firm’s ethical culture-to support Deloitte’s unwavering commitment to integrity and quality

The successful candidate will possess:

+ Excellent research, writing, oral communication, analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills; working knowledge of various research methodologies, tools and providers

+ Versatile writing and editing skills, from writing engaging short-form web copy to developmentally editing long-form research reports on complex topics; experience with creating multimedia content

+ Exceptional writing fluency and knowledge of US English grammar, conversational phrasing and AP style, and the ability to explain edits to authors

+ Ability to work independently, as well as with a larger, multifunctional team

+ Ability to manage a team and support team development

+ Client service mentality and the ability to develop a high degree of trust with key internal client base

The team

As a senior editor and content strategist for the Deloitte US Ethics Office and aligned to Deloitte Insights, you’ll work with internal and external thought leaders, subject matter experts and practitioners, as well as other research professionals, production editors, designers, UX experts, and web developers on research and thought leadership projects related to the foundational components of ethical leadership (e.g., culture, ethics and integrity)-along with some operations-oriented deliverables on behalf of the Ethics Office. These projects could take a variety of forms, such as feature articles, research reports, data visualizations and videos, as well as event presentations, webinars and other client-facing communications.

Qualifications:

Required:

+ Minimum 7 years of experience in writing, editing and proofreading content in English (business journalism and/or data-driven journalism experience preferred)

+ Bachelor’s degree (preferably in English, literature, journalism, communications or similar)

+ Limited sponsorship may be available

+ Ability to travel 5-10%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve

Preferred:

+ Experience in a publishing/media house

+ Experience with corporate research and thought leadership

+ Experience working remotely

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $88600 to $181900

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
