Role Definition

The Drivetrain Engineered Value Chain (EVC) team is responsible for designing a value chain which achieves customer availability requirements and internal financial commitments for Drivetrain components manufactured globally. The Drivetrain EVC team works with a global network of Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Procurement, Engineering, Business Resources, and IT professionals to solve complex problems and drive business solutions. As a Data Specialist on the Drivetrain EVC team, you will develop, deploy, and maintain digital tools designed to address business problems. Additionally, you will analyze data, present findings to business leaders, and lead process improvement projects.

Responsibilities

+ Analyzing customer requirements based on the understanding of conformed models and catering solutions that are implementable and maintainable.

+ Discerning data accuracies in large sets of data of diverse formats

+ Researching, designing, and documenting data specifications at all points in the production life cycle.

+ Understanding software development and web technologies and having proficiency in SQL and other data programming languages.

Skill Descriptors

Value Realization: Level Basic Understanding

Knowledge of value realization methods; ability to plan, execute, monitor and manage business activities and resources to determine and achieve the actual value from a business initiative as estimated in an associated business case.

Communicating Complex Concepts: Level Working Knowledge

Knowledge of effective presentation tools and techniques to ensure clear understanding; ability to use summarization and simplification techniques to explain complex technical concepts in simple, clear language appropriate to the audience.

Agile Development: Level Working Knowledge

Knowledge of agile methodologies and the agile development lifecycle; ability to utilize formal agile methodologies, disciplines, practices and techniques for the delivery of new and enhanced applications.

Cloud Computing: Level Working Knowledge

Knowledge of the concepts, technologies and services of cloud computing; ability to design, deploy and implement cloud computing solutions in various business environment.

Database Design (Physical): Level Working Knowledge

Knowledge of database systems; ability to establish a data model for designing an organization’s database that runs effectively and efficiently for better business outcome.

ETL Process: Level Working Knowledge

Knowledge of the extraction, transformation and loading (ETL) process; ability to develop a database through the ETL process.

Information Management: Level Working Knowledge

Knowledge of an organization’s existing and planned Information Architecture and Information Management (IM) methodology; ability to collect and manage information from different sources, and distribute this information to enhance operational efficiency.

Modeling: Data, Process, Events, Objects: Level Working Knowledge

Knowledge of data, process and events; ability to use tools and techniques for analyzing and documenting logical relationships among data, processes or events.

+ This position will close 7/24/2024 at 11:59 pm.

+ The location for this position is onsite in East Peoria, IL (Building KK).

+ Caterpillar embraces flexibility through a hybrid work model, requiring onsite work 3 days per week.

+ Relocation assistance is NOT available for this position.

+ This position may require less than 10% travel.
