Overview

GOVCIO is seeking a motivated Operations/Data Engineer with 10+ years of experience in standardizing data platforms and automating data engineering to drive analytics and reporting, a candidate who excels in dynamic, fast-paced environments and finds joy in delivering scalable Data Engineering Solutions. This position will be a fully remote position within the United States.

Responsibilities

Our candidate will have the following responsibilities:

+ Interface with other technology teams to extract, transform, and load data from a wide variety of data sources using Python, SQL, and AWS big data technologies.

+ Designing and implementing complex pipelines and other Data Engineering solutions.

+ Work closely with Senior Data Engineers, Product Managers, and BI Engineers to explore new data sources and deliver the data.

+ Create innovative solutions as required based on team and stakeholder needs.

+ Collaborate in designing and developing the next generation of our AWS data infrastructure.

+ Develop integrations with external resources (sFTP, APIs, etc.).

+ Develop ETL/ELT processes and patterns to efficiently move data.

+ Create data visualizations, dashboards, and reports as needed.

+ Data migrations and conversions to the cloud and to cloud data warehouse services

+ Develop and scope requirements.

+ Experience in managing or contributing to IT projects, including system upgrades, migrations, and deployments.

+ Maintain effective communication with the team and customers.

+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills for clear interaction with team members, stakeholders, and clients.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience

+ Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology (IT), or related field AND 10+ years of technical support, technical consulting experience, or information technology experience

+ Working experience with DevOps tools, GIT, CI/CD Pipelines, Jenkins, etc.

+ 5+ years designing and developing data analytics solutions

+ 5+ years with databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL

+ Knowledge of distributed databases such as Redshift, Snowflake, Azure Synapse, and BigQuery

+ A passion to learn and improve your skills to deliver the best practical solutions to customers

+ Experience with cloud-based data services offered by Azure, AWS, and Google

+ Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI and Tableau

Clearance Required: Ability to Obtain and Maintain a Suitability/Public Trust Clearance

Posted Pay Range

The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Posted Salary Range

USD $120,000.00 – USD $130,000.00 /Yr.
