The End User Hardware Engineer provides technical expertise specific to hardware to strengthen the reliability, efficiency, and performance of the enterprise. It is critical that this role be a technical partner to implement established standards and procedures which support the enterprise’s managed infrastructure along with ensuring operational stability. This role is responsible for implementing reliable Hardware solutions that maintain the integrity of the existing infrastructure as well as meet the customer objectives. Works effectively in a team to establish synergies with IT peers across the enterprise.

Key duties:

- Gathering business and technical requirements for hardware solutions(laptops/desktops/displays/mobility).

- Make decisions around hardware configurations, computer images, systems specifications.

- Coordinating and leading in the design, testing, evaluation, implementation, and support for multiple complex platforms of large size and complexity (hardware, operating systems, software, systems tools, and IT processes).

- Evaluate business requirements and recommend hardware that will enhance availability, reliability, scalability, and security, while consistently driving down total cost of ownership.

- Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware deployments (Bios/firmware/drivers)

- Design and document enterprise standards and procedures

- Ensure platforms/systems conform to established enterprise/industry standards (systems management, security, operating systems, etc.) and reference models

- Provide technical support, as needed, to the enterprise

- Create detailed documentation for all engineering solutions.

- Maintain lifecycle of hardware across large enterprise with over 100k devices

Required qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or 5 years of equivalent experience

Knowledge/Skills – Required:

- Working knowledge of:

o VMWare Workspace ONE

o Endpoint Configuration Manager (SCCM)

o Understand the major components of hardware for laptops, desktops, printers, monitors/displays, etc.

o Benchmarking hardware

o TPM

o BIOS

o Active Directory

o Group Policy

- Communication Skills- The ability to communicate verbally and in writing with all levels of employees and management, capable of successful formal and informal communication at the appropriate level.

- Teamwork – Works well in a collaborative setting, acting as a positive team member by contributing to discussions, developing, and maintaining both formal and informal relationships enterprise-wide, defines success in terms of the entire team through mentoring and knowledge transfer.

- Technical Expertise – Demonstrates a commitment to increasing knowledge and skills in providing architecture, engineering and operations direction and support of end user device management in a large enterprise, keeping up to date on technical developments and industry practices.

- Demonstrated success in managing complex technical projects that require innovative solutions

- Demonstrated success in delivering results on complex technical challenges including strong investigative and problem-solving skills

Knowledge/Skills – Preferred:

- SCCM to Workspace ONE migration (Strongly desired)

- SysTrack analysis and reporting

- Sharepoint design

Experience – Required:

- Five years of progressively responsible work experience specifically in Enterprise Endpoint Engineering.

- 5+ years’ experience with integrating multiple complex solutions into one standard enterprise solution

Experience – Preferred:

- O/S migrations

- Airline industry experience
