Job Title: Tooling Manager

Job Type: Full-time Permanent Position

Compensation: Up to 130k/Annual, commensurate with experience

Overview: We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Tooling Manager to oversee our tooling operations. The Tooling Manager will be responsible for managing the design, procurement, maintenance, and inventory of all tooling equipment essential for our manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments to ensure the efficient operation of our tooling resources.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Manage the overall tooling strategy, including design, fabrication, procurement, and maintenance of tools and molds.

+ Coordinate with engineering, production, and quality assurance teams to understand tooling requirements and ensure timely delivery of tools to support production schedules.

+ Develop and implement tooling standards and procedures to optimize efficiency and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

+ Evaluate existing tooling equipment and recommend improvements or replacements to enhance productivity and reduce downtime.

+ Monitor tooling budgets and expenses, negotiate with suppliers, and manage inventory levels to minimize costs while maintaining operational readiness.

+ Train and supervise tooling technicians and operators, providing guidance and support to ensure skill development and adherence to best practices.

+ Collaborate with external vendors and contractors for tooling projects, ensuring adherence to specifications, timelines, and budget constraints.

+ Stay updated with industry trends and technological advancements in tooling and recommend innovative solutions to improve manufacturing processes.

Required Qualifications:

+ Proven experience (5 years) in tooling management within a manufacturing environment, with a strong understanding of tooling design, fabrication, and maintenance.

+ Proficiency in CAD/CAM software and familiarity with CNC machining processes.

+ Excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage resources, and meet deadlines.

+ Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.

+ Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

+ Leadership qualities with experience in supervising and mentoring staff.

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Associate degree or Tool and Die Journeyman card or 5 years of equivalent directly related experience in the field.

+ Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma).

Benefits:

+ Salary range is up to 130k annually, commensurate with experience.
