Description:

The Technical Writer will create technical content for our Knowledge Portal, a rich knowledge base for end users of our platform. You’ll work with Product Managers, UX Designers, Client Services, and many others throughout the organization to understand the product and create helpful, clear, accurate documentation.

Key responsibilities include:

- Writing and updating clear, accurate, helpful, timely, well-organized technical content or similar knowledge resources, using a simple and conversational approach. Content may include instructions, concepts, reference, best practices, troubleshooting, glossaries, and more.

- Working with product managers, engineers, account managers, and many others to understand the product and customer goals and obtain feedback.

- Working with the company’s product platform to develop a deep understanding of the product.

- Working to implement improvements to the Knowledge Portal design, possibly using skills in CSS, JavaScript, etc.

- Helping to create reports of our analytics data and feedback mechanisms to understand customer needs.

- May help implement and carry out content translation workflows.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

- 5-7 years technical writing experience

- Deep familiarity with one or more technical content authoring and content management tools, such as Paligo, Oxygen, Madcap Flare, RoboHelp, or other tools and content management systems; experience with XML authoring is highly desired

- Familiarity with best practices in technical writing, for example, by following a department style guide and researching best practices

- Strong ability to understand user needs and apply critical thinking in content development

- Ability to develop cross-functional rapport and relationships with product managers, engineers, product marketing managers, account managers, and others

- Ability to work with languages such as Markdown, HTML, XML, CSS, or XSL to write, edit, and troubleshoot deliverables

- Familiarity with common source control and bug tracking tools (Git, Jira)
