VCA Arboretum View Animal Hospital is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Entry-Level Veterinary Assistant to join our team!
Position Type: Full-Time, 5 × 8 hour days, 9 am – 5 pm.
Job Summary:
VCA Arboretum View Animal Hospital is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Entry-Level Veterinary Assistant to join our team. The primary responsibilities of this role include restraining patients for ultrasounds and maintaining cleanliness and organization within the facility. This position is perfect for someone looking to start their career in veterinary medicine with a passion for animal care and a keen eye for detail.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Safely and effectively restrain patients during ultrasound procedures to ensure the comfort and safety of both the patient and the veterinary staff.
+ Maintain cleanliness and organization of examination rooms, treatment areas, and other parts of the clinic.
+ Perform daily housekeeping tasks, including cleaning and disinfecting kennels, equipment, and surfaces.
+ Assist with inventory management by restocking supplies and informing supervisors of low stock.
+ Support the veterinary team with additional tasks as needed, including but not limited to, assisting with other procedures, record-keeping, and client communication.
Qualifications:
+ High school diploma or equivalent.
+ Prior experience in a veterinary setting is preferred but not required.
+ Ability to handle and restrain animals of various sizes and temperaments safely and compassionately.
+ Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
+ Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
+ Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks and procedures.
+ Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift up to 30 pounds.
