Basic Job Functions:Nucor Steel Kankakee is seeking a leader committed to taking care of our customers. The successful candidate will be a safety-minded, goal-oriented, cost and quality-driven applicant.
The Nucor Kankakee Combustion Automation and Controls Specialist will be responsible for the design, development, installation, management and maintenance of reheat furnace combustion systems, material handling, and rolling mill instrumentation and programming. This position's responsibilities will include, but not limited too, taking electrical projects from conception to commissioning. In doing so, this teammate will be responsible for managing project costs, managing contractors on projects, and managing the technical and logistical aspects of projects, all while providing electrical support for electricians, and helping with the technical training of our electrical teammates.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Electrical Engineering Degree or 2 years industrial experience in automation and controls
•High school diploma or GED
Preferred Qualifications:
• B.S. in Electrical Engineering
• Previous Steel/Manufacturing Experience in an industrial setting or related coursework
