Position OverviewThe Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is seeking an organized, professional, and results oriented individual to serve as Staff Assistant. This position will provide assistance and consultation to the Deputy Director of Child Services and will identify concerns, issues, and trends. The position will also provide written reports to the Deputy Director and represent him/her in assigned meetings. Job Responsibilities- Serves as staff assistant to the Deputy Director, providing consultation regarding matters which are often of a sensitive and/or controversial nature
- Provides professional assistance to the Deputy Director in the research, design, implementation, and reporting of special studies/projects on programmatic and administrative responsibilities
- Researches, gathers detailed information, analyzes information, and prepares responses to communications on behalf of the Deputy Director
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above
- Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four years of college, preferably with courses in public or business administration
- Requires two years of professional experience in a public or business organization
