TheProduct Manager isresponsible for oversite of the products and product lines (inclusive of inks and coatings) for Paper Packaging inks including selection, rationalization, addition, and optimization, with the goal of maximizing profitability, competitiveness, and growth.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Work closely with Sales & Customer Tech Support (CTS) teams to support existing and new Paper Packaging business; and (with Sales) achieve annual sales and margin budgets (AOP) for the year.
Short- and long-term business planning. Work through AOP process to set goals and drive to completion.
Guide the technical team on market demands and trends. Provide direction from both a platform development approach as well as a day-to-day application approach.
Work with Regulatory in USA and Canada to ensure new products are approved as required.
Provide training to Sales and CTS personnel on use of our inks, and compatibility of our inks with substrates and overprint varnishes.
Manage direct customer technical discussion on key customers that significantly impact the Paper Packaging business.
Manage dedicated resources to the Paper Packaging product management team to support business goals.
Represent and coordinate with marketing the market facing product approach. This should include trade shows, collateral support, articles...to focus on the key messages for the Sun Chemical Paper Packaging products.
Maintain pricelists and acceptable margins for Paper Packaging inks and coatings. Work with technology and procurement on margin enhancing projects. Part of this process is supporting large RFPs and the white paper process (both product and pricing.)
Work with supply chain planners to ensure adequate inventory is maintained to support current business and supply conditions, while ensuring the inventories meet the corporate guideline levels.
Work with supply chain planners on forecasts to ensure adequate inventory is maintained to support future expected business or for upcoming or potential planned press trials.
Communicate with plant managers on items affecting PP ink warehousing, blending, QC checks, shipping, and returns. Help set priorities to achieve corporate goals.
Produce reports for senior management, supply chain, sales, CTS as needed.
Study and maintain market information on the Paper Packaging NA markets.
Be the expert in North America on Paper Packaging ink products for all PP markets.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in a similar Product Management role, or Business Unit Manager role, or sales experience with Paper Packaging.
Technical understanding of the products and applications of inks and coatings in the paper packaging market.
Bachelor's Degree preferred in Business, Economics, Marketing, or another area that has practiced critical thinking skills, which are necessary for this position.
Excellent organizational skills and to work in a self-directed manner
Computer proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Proficiency in SAP and Salesforce is helpful.
Ability to get results through others you don't manage but will need as allies to be successful.
Strong trouble shooting/problem solving skills-finding a way to yes when others tell you no.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: 20%
