Work remote to start, then transition to Washington, DC

Responsibilities:

Develop content for cyber defense tools and analyze network traffic to identify anomalies and potential threats.
Coordinate with cyber defense staff to validate network alerts and ensure cybersecurity measures mitigate identified risks.
Document and escalate incidents with potential impact, perform trend analysis, and correlate events from various sources for situational awareness.
Conduct security reviews, identify gaps, and recommend risk mitigation strategies.
Provide daily summary reports on network events, analyze alerts, and detect possible attacks.
Use cyber defense tools to monitor system activity, analyze malicious activity, and understand exploitation methods.
Examine network topologies, identify anomalies, and conduct research across data sets.
Validate IDS alerts, isolate malware, identify applications and OS of network devices, and reconstruct malicious activities.
Notify relevant personnel of suspected incidents, analyze security posture trends, assess access controls, monitor external data sources, and provide cybersecurity recommendations.
Work with stakeholders on incident resolution, vulnerability compliance, and input for disaster recovery and continuity plans.
