Job Description

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Director of Medical Staff Services this position acts as a "gatekeeper" for NCH practitioner data to ensure all required data related information is gathered, accurate and complete. Identifies and reports data issues, related to uniqueness, integrity, accuracy, consistency, and completeness in a timely fashion. Maintains and creates master data records in accordance with NCH MSS policies and delegation contract requirements.

REPRESENTATIVE FUNCTIONS:

Provides essential reports and modified current software programs as needed to support quality control functions, departmental goals and customer/associate satisfaction.

Develops and modifies custom reports, queries and letters for departmental processes.

Develops and modifies custom reports and queries for internal and external customers as requested.

Creates, modifies and maintains data and reports for electronic transfer of appropriate information to specific entities and departments within NCH.

Maintain a log of all data requests from internal customers and a log of all regularly run reports including report name, fields, frequency of report and report destination.

Provides expertise to assist in Performance Improvement /Quality with report creation and modification as needed.

Maintains awareness of updates in a variety of computer applications, i.e., MSOW, Crystal, Excel, etc.

Performs modifications to software programs, tables, modules and drop-down lists as needed.

Creates and compiles reports for procedural and data integrity as requested. Creates reports from the audit trail and coordinates archiving of audit trail to track system changes.

Performs ongoing monitoring of Medicare and Medicaid sanctions (monthly OIG match and IDPA reports), and state of Illinois licensing disciplinary actions (IDFPR monthly reports), reports results to Corporate Compliance, Internal Audit, and internal credentialing customers and tracks results.

Maintain NPDB enrollments, cancelations and continuous query for all NCH entities.

Produces data and rosters as needed to maintain delegation with payors.

Maintains computer hardware/software and security and trains users on functionality and use of modules.

Monitors and maintains system security for compliance with departmental, corporate and accrediting organization and participates in security audits.

Monitors and maintains system security access including, but not limited to, assigning user access, passwords and database permissions. Compiles ongoing and quarterly security reports for department management team.

Maintains system documentation consisting of users, instructions, procedures, manuals, hardware requirements and system configuration for audit compliance, analysis and troubleshooting.

Trains and assists internal and system-wide users in functionality and use of software programs, i.e. MSOW, ARM, etc.

Provides daily assistance for problems, questions, and procedural instructions to system users.

Serves as initial contact for all departmental computer hardware and software applications including scanners and phone issues. Provides troubleshooting and analysis for resolution or referral to IT or vendor and performs appropriate, timely follow-up.

Serves as liaison and coordinates with system IT, vendor and internal customers for system conversions, installations and upgrades.

Coordinates with Employee Health to populate information on TB, Flu and other health related compliance requirements.

Processes computer hardware and other equipment orders, coordinates office moves, computer, phones, scanners and module installations and upgrades.

Assists in coordination of office workflow operations

Maintains working knowledge of credentialing and recredentialing processes and assists as necessary.

Launches reappointment processes in collaboration with Director.

SPECIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

The computer skills to access, research, update and extract information from MSOW, Epic, internet, excel and other systems as needed.

Interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and written, to interact effectively with hospital staff, vendors and members of the community.

Administrative skills to support the preparation of plans that define activities, responsibilities and timeframes and implement the reporting of status against those plans.

The organizational skills to complete multiple tasks while remaining flexible, and to perform work assignments under minimal supervision despite distractions and interruptions.

The conceptual skills to work independently and apply personal initiative to develop and maintain schedules to produce finished products.

Detail oriented with ability to understand and adhere to priorities
