Role Summary/Purpose:

Synchrony is continuing to build a world class Performance Media and Creative Organization committed to driving results with our retail and payments partners while also delivering leading customer experiences. Within this organization, our Paid Media Team is focused on achieving growth by making data-driven decisions to create meaningful interactions with existing and potential customers. We are seeking a VP, Display and Programmatic Media to serve as the leader and subject-matter expert in contextual and audience-based media execution, buying direct from publishers and across DSPs. This role will lead a team that will execute campaigns across the Synchrony enterprise.

Occasionally you may be required to commute to our nearest office for in person engagement activities such as business or team meetings, training and culture events.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

+ Lead the Synchrony in-house display and programmatic team, integrating strategically with all paid, owned and earned media channels, creative and analytics

+ Evolve programmatic media best practices, providing updates to relevant stakeholders

+ Serve as the subject matter expert in programmatic media, advertising, and market dynamics, including ‘cookieless’ future, data privacy and consent, and campaign measurement

+ Innovate within campaigns by seeking opportunities to increase performance through testing emerging capabilities; champion learning agendas and testing plans across Synchrony’s business units

+ Foster the collaboration of team members during planning and buying cycles to inform audience, inventory and creative strategy, execution and optimization

+ Influence and align senior stakeholders in a highly matrixed organization

+ Identify opportunities for programmatic dynamic creative tests with the goal of driving personalization, relevance and improved engagement

+ Partner with analytics to develop and implement robust testing frameworks that measure the incremental impact of display and video marketing across the marketing funnel and across channels

+ Collaborate with cross-department leads on overarching media strategies to drive cross-channel impact

+ Evaluate programmatic media vendors to reach untapped high value audiences, improve operational efficiency, and optimize media investments

+ Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements:

+ Bachelor’s degree, or in lieu of degree, High School diploma and 8+ years programmatic media experience

+ 6+ years of programmatic media experience with in-depth expertise across multiple DSPs (e.g. DV360, Amazon Advertising, Yahoo DSP)

+ 4+ years of experience with digital advertising elements including segmentation, trafficking, tag implementation, A/B testing, auto-optimization, cross-device integration and security

+ 3+ years of experience managing people

+ Experience in programmatic strategy, planning and execution for both awareness and performance (conversion) campaigns

+ Experience working across integrated digital marketing campaigns that may require cross-channel collaboration (examples include: Audience, Pay Per Click, SEO, Social, Content Marketing, Email and Creative strategists)

+ Experience in managing large budgets

Desired Characteristics:

+ Experience in financial services, retail or healthcare

+ Ability to translate client marketing goals to audience and programmatic buying strategies

+ Strong communication skills with the ability to tailor messaging for varying levels of understanding of programmatic buying

+ Commercially focused, understanding the impact that media can have on business goals

+ Practical experience in developing measurement plans with analytics, understanding and communicating the complex data challenges of a cookieless world

+ A self-motivated individual who can operate autonomously

+ A proactive and responsive leader that is attentive to detail

Grade/Level: 12

The salary range for this position is 110,000.00 – 185,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.

Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.

Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.

Eligibility Requirements:

+ You must be 18 years or older

+ You must have a high school diploma or equivalent

+ You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process

+ You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.

+ New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months’ time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance expectations).
