Job Description:

The Chief of Staff team oversees projects and initiatives and maintains effective collaboration in the Office of Remediation. This individual will support the Chief of Staff and Head of Operational Frameworks with requests and special projects across the Office of Remediation Pillars – including program management, effective challenge and review, and reporting and governance.

Responsibilities

+ Support the Office of Remediation’s priorities, execution risks, deadlines and calendar and provide coordination across the initiatives within the Office of Remediation’s portfolios; problem solve to ensure office runs smoothly.

+ Prepare materials for executive committee, board-level, and regulatory meetings.

+ Provide logistical support for many of the activities intended to set strategic direction and maintain alignment within business unit including cross-functional working group meetings, senior leadership meetings, etc.

+ Manage communications, including the development of baseline content from the Office of Remediation (including participation in townhalls).

+ Manage operations of the organization including headcount, third party vendors, and budgeting/forecasting.

+ Oversee creation and upkeep of strong operating methodologies, processes and frameworks for the Office of Remediation and in-scope efforts, including:

+ Policy, operating procedures

+ Interaction models, process responsibilities

+ Methodologies for status ratings, review and challenge, quality review

+ Protocols for evidencing completion, proving deliverables

+ Provides logistical support and leadership for many of the activities intended to set strategic direction and maintain alignment within the business. Participates in business unit scorecard and process reviews.

+ Provides overall direction and support to the leadership team in defining, prioritizing, pursuing, and monitoring major initiatives.

+ Manages and interprets data on business performance. Monitors and optimizes business performance, budget, and expense planning.

Minimum Qualifications

At a minimum, here’s what we need from you:

+ Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, Operations, Communications, or related field.

+ 6+ years of experience in Finance, Marketing, Operations, general business management, or related field.

+ In lieu of a degree, 8+ years of experience in Finance, Marketing, Operations, general business management, or related field.

Preferred Qualifications

+ Master’s Degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, Operations, Communications, or related field.

+ 8+ years of experience in Finance, Marketing, Operations, general business management, or related field.

+ Experience in financial services, management consulting, or related experience that requires fast learning, creation of framework-driven approaches, collaboration across multiple stakeholder groups.

+ Demonstrated ability to structure information and develop materials (including excellent PowerPoint and strong written synthesis skills) to communicate at the right level to different stakeholders.

+ Ability to work with senior stakeholders within and across functional units.

+ Ability to understand the objective and create, communicate, and execute in ambiguous situations.

+ Experience in the project management space, sequencing activities, streamlining ways of working, identifying execution risks and taking proactive steps to address and/or escalate risks.

+ Strong analytical thinking and ability to identify and synthesize themes and implications from multiple data points and sources (in written and oral communication).

+ Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing frameworks, policies, methodologies, and/or procedures for large organizations with multiple stakeholders.

+ Specific subject matter expertise regarding program management disciplines and a strong business understanding of the products and services Discover offers.

Compensation:

The base pay for this position generally ranges between $103,000.00 to $174,200.00. Additional incentives may be provided as part of a market competitive total compensation package. Factors, such as but not limited to, geographical location, relevant experience, education, and skill level may impact the pay for this position.
