About the Role: The Benefits Analyst is responsible for ensuring the benefit plans are consistently administered and in compliance with company policies and government regulations. The position is also primarily responsible for handling escalated benefit issues in a timely manner, updating Transdev’s internal benefits tools and resources, as well as auditing benefits data, and deductions, and processing vendor invoice payments accurately and timely. This position will serve as a resource for the organization’s third-party benefits administrator and other plan vendors, as well as our internal business partners, including but not limited to field HR and operations team on a day-to-day basis related to benefits as appropriate. Must have advanced excel skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Researches, analyzes, evaluates, data, and assists with administering company benefit plans and programs
  • Reporting and auditing: Conducts regular audits on all plans to ensure data and deduction accuracy including but limited to communication to functional and operations
  • Billing: Processes vendor invoice payments and conducts routine reporting, auditing, and reconciliation
  • Performs reporting and metrics analysis
  • Ensures the data quality of all benefit plans information is consistent with company benefit policies, and updates internal tools, and benefits platforms as needed to ensure accurate and up-to-date information is available
  • Analyzes benefit processes and data to determine and recommend changes for benefit program and process improvements, and to ensure accurate data is communicated to vendors
  • Establishes key vendor relationships, develops an in-depth understanding of benefit operations, and initiates process improvements to ensure programs run efficiently and effectively
  • Provides technical support on annual plan audits, government fillings, non-discrimination testing, benefit integrations, and other related compliance activities
  • Assists with the implementation and coordination of all benefit acquisition work including (startups/shutdowns) due diligence, project planning, benefits recommendation, financial impact, and integration
  • Supports the Annual Open Enrollment process, including testing, updating plan information, organizing meetings or fairs
  • Handles non-routine benefit inquiries and complaints promptly; evaluates and assesses new approaches to current processes and issues
  • Assists with the implementation of new plans, programs, and changes to plans or administrative procedures and assures compliance with provisions of ERISA and insurance contracts
  • Reviews/researches/updates benefits communications, related documents and reference materials for use by both internal and external audiences
  • Maintains working knowledge of Transdev union contracts and follows negotiated benefit provisions to ensure benefit programs are administered and documented accurately
  • Assists in maintaining an accurate, up-to-date database of current benefit programs for all Transdev locations
  • Interacts with third-party administrators and insurance companies for eligibility (i.e. enrollments, terminations, and family status changes). Review and update records from weekly vendor interfaces via error/discrepancy reports
  • Maintains functional business requirements document for online enrollment and eligibility vendor.
  • Administers retiree medical program
  • Prepares and presents benefit appeals to the Committee regarding eligibility, claims, or plan denials
  • Processes all court orders and QMCSOs
  • Understands and is able to follow COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA, PPACA, FMLA, and other benefit-related laws

Qualifications:

Education, Licensing, and Certifications:

Education Preferred: High School Diploma

Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration strongly preferred.

Experience:

This position requires 0-1 year of experience administering health and welfare benefit programs or equivalent professional experience

Skills and Knowledge Required:

Basic knowledge of ERISA, DOL, IRS, FMLA, HIPAA, ACA

Advanced Excel Skills required-Must have the ability to do V look-ups, pivot tables, index matching, charts, formulas, power queries

Highly motivated, customer-oriented approach with strong problem-solving, technical, and analytical abilities

Ability to exercise sound judgment, set priorities, organize, implement, and administer effectively in all areas of accountability

Demonstrated ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions

Ability to work under pressure and multi-task

Superior ability to develop rapport at all levels and work toward an identified goal in a fast-paced environment

Strong analytical and communication skills with a proven ability to work both independently and as a member of a team

Skills and Knowledge Preferred:

ADP Experience a plus
