The Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) is one of the most innovative divisions within Caterpillar. In PSLD, as within all of Caterpillar, our priority is our customers and helping them build a better world. We touch nearly every element of the services value stream from procurement to design and manufacturing to distribution. PSLD is responsible for Aftermarket Parts Distribution?of?Cat Parts, Integrated Logistics, segment Procurement?and the?design and?manufacture?of Wear Components (Undercarriage and GET) and Maintenance Components (Seals, Tubes & Hardware, Hose & Couplings, Fluids and Filters).

Job Summary

The Parts and Services Consultant leads research and provides expertise in the development and implementation of marketing strategies.

+ This position is located in Peoria, IL and does not provide relocation

+ Travel expected: 25% or less

What You Will Do

+ Analyzing competitive companies’ profiles and products (Undercarriage providers)

+ Conducting market/competitive research to identify biggest threats and industry trends.

+ Establishing and managing competitive iron budget

+ Procuring UC competitive iron based on market analysis and current lost sales or major loss opportunities

+ Writing Competitive analysis reports for internal and external publications

+ Establishing metrics to compare and review the effectiveness of existing products; suggesting necessary interventions for improvement.

+ Maintaining effective internal communications in the Product Group and with the key Commercial Partners to discuss and influence the marketing strategy.

+ Supporting Continuous Product Improvement projects and Product Support to improve competitiveness and product value

+ Employee may also be responsible for performing other job duties occasionally as assigned.

+ Relationship Management: Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers.

+ Strategic Thinking: Knowledge of the importance of “big picture” thinking and planning; ability to apply organizational acumen and competitiveness to identify and maintain focus on key success factors for the organization.
