Job Description

What You’ll Do

You will consult with Business, Risk and Tech Stakeholders to research, build, and implement scalable artificial intelligence systems capable of learning and making predictions to business requirements. You will build, monitor, evaluate, and optimize learning processes to continuously improve high-performance models (Traditional, Deep Learning and LLMs). You will work with other data and analytics professionals to optimize, refine, automate, and scale analysis into repeatable analytics solutions and decision support tools.

More specifically you will:

+ Design and develop machine learning (ML) and deep learning systems.

+ Develop processes to use LLMs effectively and accurately on unstructured data.

+ Run machine learning tests and experiments. Trains and retrain systems to prevent drift and optimize results.

+ Solve complex problems with multi-layered data sets, extend existing ML frameworks and optimize existing machine learning libraries.

+ Develop Machine Learning apps, implement algorithms, and build tools to apply ML frameworks.

+ Turn unstructured data into useful information by auto-tagging images and speech-to-text conversions.

+ Develop ML algorithms to analyze huge volumes of historical data to make predictions.

+ Run tests, performs statistical analysis, and interprets test results.

+ Provide specialized consulting, analytical and technical support for the commercial bank.

+ Exercise judgment to identify, diagnose, and solve problems within given rules.

+ Work independently and regularly handles non-routine situations.

+ Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications:

+ Consultative approach in engaging internal partners (e.g. business, technology) desired.

+ Strong creative reasoning and computational thinking skills.

+ Clear verbal & written communication skills.

+ Extensive collaboration & team skills.

+ Experience impacting business transformation through modelling.

+ Mathematics, Statistics & Operations Research.

+ Strong Analytical and problem-solving skills.

+ Clear experience in data driven decision making.

+ Strong computational thinking and programming.

+ Proven experience developing and scaling Machine Learning and Deep Learning models.

+ Strong history of continuous integration and continuous delivery/deployment.

+ Knowledge and experience using various ML algorithms.

+ Experience using LLMs (GPT, Llama, AWS Bedrock Models etc) in production.

+ Deep knowledge and technical proficiency gained through extensive education and business experience.

+ 6+ years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Salary:

$79,800.00 – $148,000.00

Pay Type:

Salaried

The above represents BMO Financial Group’s pay range and type.

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.

BMO Financial Group’s total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
