Humana is seeking a Senior Business Intelligence Engineer to support the Wisconsin Medicaid market. The Senior Business Intelligence Engineer describes the tools, technologies, applications and practices used to collect, integrate, analyze, and present an organization’s raw data in order to create insightful and actionable business information.

The Senior Business Intelligence Engineer:

+ Provides coaching, review of work and training in using the tools to members of the BI team.

+ Leads workgroups or participate as a subject matter expert in projects representing the market and works directly with leaders across the market to ensure support for complex data needs are being met.

+ Utilizes their deep industry knowledge and understanding of changing regulatory landscape impact on business processed to proactively address analytic needs of the organization.

+ Provides technical support to data models and reports to ensure sustainability and accuracy of information.

Required Qualifications

+ Bachelor’s degree and 5 or more years of experience in data analysis OR master’s degree and 3 or more years of experience in data analysis.

+ Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including, advanced formulas, creating PivotTables, data modeling, power query, power pivot, and custom formatting.

+ 3 or more years of experience working with big and complex data sets within large organizations.

+ 3 or more years of analyzing data to solve a wide variety of business problems and create data visualizations that drive strategic direction.

+ Proficiency in understanding healthcare related data.

+ Experience in SQL including advanced querying, data modeling, error handling and debugging.

+ 3 or more years of in-depth experience in Microsoft Power BI including report building, DAX and training others in the use of Power BI.

Preferred Qualifications

+ Advanced Degree in a quantitative discipline, such as Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering or related field.

+ Advanced in, SAS and other data systems (10+ years’ experience).

+ Expertise in data mining, forecasting, simulation, and/or predictive modeling.

+ Experience creating analytics solutions for various healthcare sectors.

Additional Information

+ Workstyle: Home. Home workstyle is defined as remote but will use Humana office space on an as needed basis for collaboration and other face-to-face needs.

+ Typical Work Days/Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 5:00 pm CST.

WAH Internet Requirements

To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees’ ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees must meet the following criteria:

+ At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is recommended; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested.

+ Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership.

+ Employees who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.

+ Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.

+ Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.$78,800 – $108,500 per yearThis job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
