Overview

The Fire Sprinkler System Designer is responsible for developing and implementing fire sprinkler systems for our industrial facilities. This role involves ensuring compliance with national standards and performing detailed hydraulic calculations and design tasks using specialized software. The designer also prepares construction documents and designs special hazard protection systems.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fire Sprinkler System Designer to join our team in Green Oaks, IL. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in designing fire sprinkler systems, specifically for industrial and warehouse environments, and will be well-versed in national standards and special hazard protection.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Develop and layout fire sprinkler systems for diverse facilities, focusing on industrial and warehouse settings.

+ Ensure designs meet Factory Mutual (FM) Guidelines and other pertinent standards.

+ Conduct hydraulic calculations using software such as HydraCAD, AutoSprink, or SprinkCAD.

+ Utilize AutoCAD and Revit for comprehensive design and drafting tasks.

+ Design special hazard protection systems, including those for cooling towers and flammable liquids.

+ Create construction documents that comply with national standards like IBC, IFC, and NFPA.

+ Design private underground fire main systems.

Qualifications :

+ NICET Level 2 certification in Water-Based Systems Layout required (Level 3 preferred).

+ At least five (5) years of experience designing fire sprinkler systems, specifically for industrial and warehouse environments.

+ Proven experience in designing special hazard protection systems.

+ Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.

+ Skilled in using HydraCAD, AutoSprink, or SprinkCAD software for hydraulic calculations.

+ In-depth knowledge of national standards (IBC, IFC, NFPA) and experience in preparing construction documents is preferred.

+ Experience in private underground fire main design is an advantage.

+ Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

+ Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.

+ Capability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

+ Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
