Job Description

Reporting to the Director of Supply Chain Technology, the Test Engineer is responsible for the design, build and maintenance of PCBA (Printed Circuit Board Assembly) test equipment. This role is critical to ensuring the proper assembly and quality of the production process that ensures products achieve the highest quality expectations of our customers.

You will collaborate with over 250 production colleagues in a high technology, climate controlled environment producing over 1,000 units / day factory wide. Majority of products are high mix, low volume, but also high volume, low mix examples exist providing a good variety of assembly environment experience.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

+ Support PCBA test equipment and systems in production- Independently upgrade, modify, and maintain software and hardware in test systems

+ Support the operations team from a PCBA test perspective

+ Ensure product and process quality using quality tools and metrics

+ Perform other duties as assigned

Job Scope

+ Understand and interact with the Danfoss production IT systems

+ Understand current PCB test methods and implement new systems and improvements

+ Align with Global Technology team and other functions within the organization

Background & Skills

Minimum qualifications

+ Bachelor’s Degree (BSEE) in Electrical/Electronic Engineering

+ Basic understanding of circuit analysis theory

+ Experience with measuring and data acquisition instrumentation and their limitations

+ Familiarity with PCB testing including functional ‘Bed-of-Nails’ and Automated Optical Inspection

+ Able to travel intermittently to Danfoss facilities in Europe and Asia

Preferred qualifications

+ Experience with test software, especially National Instruments LabVIEW and TestStand

+ Knowledge of databases (SQL/Oracle)

+ Knowledge of variable frequency AC drives, regeneration, and motors

+ Knowledge of Automation Systems (PLCs, etc.) and Control Panels

+ Work experience or educational background in Power Electronics

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

+ Ability to read, analyze, and interpret schematics, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations

+ Ability to write reports, specifications, and procedure manuals

+ Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups or managers, customers, assemblers, and the general public
