Email a Friend Save Save Apply Now Position Summary: The Medical Assistant I maintains department patient care supplies, ensures timely flow of patients, works up patient schedules for the Carle West Region, verifies orders, schedules patients as needed. Qualifications: CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS Basic Life Support (BLS) (AHA) within 30 days. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

+ Medical Terminology Preferred

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE Capacity to learn and retain information regarding patient care procedures. Demonstrates compassion and caring in dealing with others. Healthcare experience preferred. Essential Functions:

+ Perform a variety of routine direct patient care duties to assist technologist and Radiologist

+ Maintains patient care environment and supplies to ensure patient privacy and safety.

+ Previews patient schedules and make sure all prior imaging is available

+ Rooming patients: Collecting pertinent information regarding the patient’s chief complaint, family history, social history, surgical history and medication reconciliation upon arrival for a patient visit.

+ Prepare patient and supplies for department specific procedures

+ Maintain par levels and order supplies for exam and procedure rooms.

+ Make pre-procedure calls to review appointment instructions.

+ Take supplies to CPD for cleaning; pick up supplies from CPD for use in department.

+ Keep exam rooms and procedural areas stocked with the necessary supplies.
