Job Description
Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for an Inventory Clerk in the manufacturing industry. The position is based in THORNTON, Illinois, United States. As an Inventory Clerk, you will be responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy, conducting cycle counts, and liaising with different departments to ensure smooth operations.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate records of inventory, including conducting regular cycle counts
- Ensure the accuracy of both finished goods and raw and packaging material inventory
- Thoroughly investigate and track down any variance issues within each process order
- Report any issues to the shift managers to get these corrected going forward
- Stay in good contact with the production department to ensure proper communication and documentation of production reporting is accurate
- Balance out each process order of finished product for each production run
- Balance out each process order of raw and packaging materials for each production run
- Verify and correct all returns
- Reconcile each staging and line location
- Communicate with shift leads and supervisors for any process order discrepancy
- Log and report all discrepancies
- Investigate any inventory issues that are found during operation
- Monitor all staging locations utilized during daily operations
- Log and report all discrepancies
- Report all daily activities and notes in a shift summary
- Report KPI numbers from each production day
- Utilize MS Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations for inventory management and cycle count tracking
- Work independently while following deadlines
- Ability to work and communicate with other departments
- Prioritize Projects and follow up on tasks. Requirements – Proficiency in using MS Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations.
- Familiarity with cycle count processes and procedures.
- Experience in managing daily production schedules and tasks.
- Ability to perform annual inventory audits and generate accurate reports.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize work according to business needs.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing environment would be advantageous.
- Knowledge of inventory management principles and best practices.
- High school diploma or equivalent educational qualification.
- Proficiency in using other Microsoft Office tools like Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Willingness to work in different shifts if required.
- Ability to lift and move heavy items when necessary.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically.
- Good mathematical skills for accurate inventory count.
