Program Coordinator, Game Studies & Design

Job Summary
Game Studies & Design (GSD) Program Coordinator is responsible for the coordination and management of the undergraduate and PhD Minor in Game Studies & Design Programs, including promotion, course review and scheduling, and student advising. This position may also teach an introductory GSD course as needed.

Duties & Responsibilities

Administrate education programs:
  • Student advising,
  • Course management,
  • Curriculum changes/development,
  • Oversight of student progress and management of student records as needed.
  • Provide backup administrative and student advising support for the Informatics Minor program
  • Provide backup administrative and student advising support for the MS in Game Development program
Promote the GSD Minor programs:
  • Including incorporation of stakeholder (faculty, administrators, and students) feedback to improve the administration and development of the GSD minors.
  • Promote awareness generally of the GSD minors, on and off campus, including responsibility for the creation and production of promotional material, including handouts and web pages.
  • Prepare and present presentations to students related to GSD.
  • Meet with faculty and advisors to discuss the GSD minors.
  • Recruit students.
Participate in development of new programs as directed:
  • Other duties as assigned
Additional Physical Demands
Work is performed in a typical office environment.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree. A total of one (1) year (12 months) in education, training and/or work experience with higher education. Demonstrated experience with Game Development programs. (Note: Master's Degree in an area consistent with the duties of the position may be substituted for one (1) year of work experience.)

Preferred Qualifications

• Post-baccalaureate degree preferred.
• Any experience teaching or managing game studies courses or programs.
• Any experience in managing educational programs.
• Any professional experience advising students.

  • High-level thinking and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to multi-task among several unrelated tasks and projects.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability and willingness to collaborate and work on multiple teams.
Appointment Information

This is a 100% full-time Civil Service 5002 - Program Coordinator position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after 8/19/2024. The minimum salary is $60,000 - $70,000, We strive to provide a competitive salary, considering factors such as available market data, internal equity, candidate experience and qualifications, collective bargaining agreements, and budget constraints. The final salary offer will be determined through a thorough assessment of these elements.

We are unable to sponsor an employment VISA or take over sponsorship for an employment VISA for this position now and in the future. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States with no VISA sponsorship.
