Speech Language Pathologist - Per Diem

Job Description

Position Highlights:

Location: Edward Hospital, Naperville

Full Time/Part Time: Per Diem

Hours: Monday-Friday, 8am to 2:30pm with a requirement of 2 weekends days per month.

Holiday Schedule: will follow department holiday schedule, including one national holiday and one hard to staff holiday weekend (example: Mother's/Father's day)

What you will need:

Current State of Illinois Speech-Language Pathologist license or a Temporary Speech-Language Pathology License issues by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation

Current CPR Certification issued by either American Heart Association or Red Cross

A valid driver's license is required if the incumbent is selected to perform related duties at an off site location. If the incumbent uses their personal vehicle, the incumbent must maintain automobile liability coverage as required by law and evidence of such coverage may be requested.

If licensed, it is preferred to be American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) certified (CCC-SLP)

What you will do:

Provides direct speech therapy services to patients. Demonstrates an appropriate level of clinical skill, as evidenced by completion of comprehensive and insightful evaluations and the development of individualized and effective treatment plans, designed to achieve precise, functional goals. Evaluates patient's condition to diagnose and treat articulation, cognitive-communication fluency, language, resonance, swallowing and voice disorders. Responsible for assisting patients to develop and optimize their communication abilities and treat speech, language and voice disorders by administering prescribed speech-language therapy treatments. Uses excellent communication skills to educate patients and engage them in their own care. Stays updated regarding developments, new techniques, and equipment in the field of Speech-Language Pathology. Maintains a well-rounded knowledge base, and clinical reasoning skills to consistently achieve expected clinical outcomes.

In addition to clinical skill, demonstrates key practice management skills. Exhibits superior professionalism and people skills. Consistently maintains department productivity standards. Supports the activities of the entire team, including customer service, clinical outcomes and process improvement initiatives.
